It’s as if Jesus knows Allen Iverson’s classic rant is coming: “Practice? We talkin’ bout practice?” Yes, Jesus seems to suggest. We’re talking about practice. As humans we have an incredible capacity to live into things. We become what we practice. We become what we behold. We become what we surround ourselves with. Jesus urges his followers to put his words into practice, and in doing so, to find a life that is secure against life’s storms.
